History
Born in 1993: Success from the Start!
The Rowville Knights were born out of a parents' meeting in November 1993.
The meeting was to discuss starting a new junior football club. It would be an alternative to the local options available at the time.
The club was born and adopted the name St Simon’s Community Football Club (SSCFC).
At the AGM on 14th December 1993, the Knox Junior Football Association (KJFA) accepted the club to play in the 1994 season.

Year 2000: Knights Begin!
In its inaugural season, the club fielded two sides in the KJFA, Under 10s and Under 12s, with fifty players.
The ground had no facilities. So, the club used the Rowville Community Centre Tennis Pavilion for club rooms. They used Rowville Primary School, 200m away, for toilets.
In 1996, the Council approved an application to build a pavilion at Stud Park Ground. The project finished in 1997 to launch the season.
Training lights were installed courtesy of the Start Program.

2001 - 2002: More Members, More Teams!
During the 2001 season, our club searched for a new ground. This was during a time of solid growth for the club. It needed more facilities.
SSCFC also won the Gordon Parker Best Conducted Junior Club award for the year. This prestigious award goes to the club with the best conduct, on and off the field, for the season.
With a club of our size at the time, it was a credit to all members to have received this award.
In the 2002 season, the EFL recorded the largest number of teams within the SSCFC, totaling 16 teams.
With about 20 players per team, we had 320 registered players. This made SSCFC the largest junior club in the EFL.

2003 Today: Liberty Reserve Open!
The Liberty Reserve Pavilion opened in 2003 and became the club's main oval.
In 2016, the club held a vote to change its name to Rowville Knights Community Football Club Inc. It was also the year the Rowville Knights entered an all-girls team into the competition.
The number of girls' teams has grown to three, with the intent to enter four girls' teams in 2022. Our girls' team wears a modified jumper with a splash of pink.
In 2021, a dedicated girls' changing rooms opened. The Knights are proud to boost female participation in the sport.
